Reforestation
-
When logging, we always try to preserve as much as possible the undergrowth in the cutting area, which is currently 15-20 years old. Due to this reducing the time of forest restoration from 80 to 50-60 years.
-
Our company is a responsible forest user, so after logging and the absence of undergrowth, we are necessarily engaged in reforestation.
When continuous logging, it is not always possible to preserve the undergrowth, either there is no undergrowth at all , or very little. In such situations, we use two methods of reforestation:
Combined method
This is when there is not enough undergrowth from 1200 to 1700 pieces for hectare and you have to plant the required number of certified seedlings of European spruce aged 3 years, plowing the furrow along the portage on one side and on the other and in the shaft seedlings are planted to the required number of pieces.
Artificial reforestation
This is when plough the whole cutting area and the shaft landed certified seedlings of European spruce aged 3 years 3000 PCs for hectare. After 1 year occurs an inventory of the seedlings and if some of the them died there is a supplement to the required number of pieces. Three and five years again conducted an inventory of forest crops. In the eighth year, forest crops are transferred to a forested area.
Every year we plant more than 1.5 million spruce seedlings
How we care of the forest:
Periods of the care:
- After the first year of planting, agrotechnical care for forest crops (clearing of grass) is made.
- In the fourth or fifth year from the moment of planting, forestmaintance takes care of forest crops (cutting down shrubs around spruce trees).
- From the eighth to the tenth year, we make cutting care in young plants (thinnings).
- From the tenth to the twentieth year, we make cutting care in young plants (cleaning).
- From 20 to 40 years of care cutting (thinning).
- From 40 to 60 years of age, pass-through cutting.
- No events are held between the ages of 60 and 81.
